Experienced & Caring Staff
Our teachers are qualified, experienced practitioners, some of whom educated their own children at The Magic Tower.
Many of our teachers including the Manager Mrs Rhodes and her Deputy Mrs Wright have been with us for over 10 years and are passionate about the high quality education provided at The Magic Tower
The teacher in a Montessori classroom is more of a guide than an instructor, someone who recognises that all children are intrinsically motivated to learn, and that they absorb knowledge without effort when provided with the right kind of activities at the right stage of development.
At Magic Tower we follow the Montessori curriculum. The method is based on mutual respect and co-operation.
A key observation of Dr. Maria Montessori, is the importance of ‘sensitive periods’ for early learning. These are periods of intense fascination for learning a particular characteristic or skill - such as investigating small objects, counting, or understanding the sounds and meanings of individual letters and words. We carefully monitor every child’s progress and encourage them to select individual activities that correspond to, and reinforce these crucial phases in their development.
Magic Tower Community
When your child joins The Magic Tower, you do too! Your input, help and enthusiasm are every bit as important as anything we can offer. We’ve had parents playing musical instruments, demonstrating how plants grow, and bringing along a variety of pets and farm animals to help the children learn about the world we live in. Your help is also very welcome on outings and during our Autumn activities, Christmas Concerts and our Summer Sports Days.
We make a great effort at all times to keep you closely in touch with your child’s progress. Parents meetings are held when you will be invited to review your child’s Learning Journal and their progress.
